For the uninitiated, Twitter is a real-time short messaging service. Basically, the service, which works over multiple networks and on many Internet-enabled devices, allows quick-hit blog posts.

Minnesota MAA's Greg Nelson happy in background as Brock Lesnar moves to forefront
As the athletes of the UFC continue to gain attention, so, too, do the teams that help them prepare for each bout.
While most hardcore fans can run off a quick list of the best
trainers and academies in the sport, Minnesota Martial Arts Academy
Head Instructor and Owner Greg Nelson's name doesn't always come
directly to mind.
And though UFC stalwarts Brock Lesnar, Sean Sherk and Brock Larson,
among others, call the academy home, Nelson doesn't mind staying in the
background.

UFC vets Douglas Evans, Nissen Osterneck headline free event for Shark Fight
Forced to deal with the cancellation of an outdoor event on June 27 due
to inclement weather, the Texas-based organization Shark Fight is
making it up to MMA fans in a big way.
The promotion is hosting the aptly named "Shark Fight 5.5: Nothing to Lose" on July 18
in Amarillo, Texas, and is offering free admission to all attendees.
UFC veteran Douglas Evans (6-5) will meet Doug Frey (5-1) in the
evening's main event for Shark Fight's vacant featherweight title,
while fellow UFC veteran Nissen Osterneck (5-2) is also scheduled to
appear.

Pittsburgh's first MMA event draws the attention of UFC, though perhaps not as intended
While Still Standing Productions, LLC recently conducted Pittsburgh's
first MMA event, the organization may find itself needing to make a few
changes before a announcing a second card.
The Ultimate Cage Fighting Challenge has drawn the attention of the
sport's biggest organization, the UFC, and a copyright infringement
claim may be forthcoming.
UFC Vice President of Regulatory Affairs Marc Ratner recently told the
MMAjunkie.com Radio Network that the UFC was currently looking at potential action against the upstart organization.

UFC Fight Night 19 official for Sept. 16 in Oklahoma City, tickets on sale July 9
The UFC's first trip to Oklahoma in nearly 15 years is now official.
As MMAjunkie.com first reported in May, UFC Fight
Night 19 - which will serve as the lead-in for Spike TV's "The Ultimate
Fighter 10" debut - will take place in Oklahoma City.
With the Ford Center currently closed for renovations, the neighboring 15,000-seat Cox Convention Center will house the event.
